Low bend of curvature
I3O® Technology allows the design of small size photonic devices. Minimum radius of waveguide curvature can be as low as a few hundred micrometers. Both device miniaturisation and processing simplicity enable low cost optical solutions.

Mode Field Management
I3O® Technology allows guided field to be tailored to fit most existing structures: standard single mode fibre, Semiconductor waveguide chip (InP, GaAs…), Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA), Laser Diodes (LD), other PLCs…
The propagating mode adaptation doesn’t require thickness modification. It can be located anywhere on the chip. This Mode Field Management is definitely an advantage for hybrid device manufacturing.
